AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Joel Haney has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 6, 2022.

Haney, a sophomore from Rock Hill, S.C., registered an outstanding performance.

In Haney's lone appearance of the week, the right-handed pitcher hurled a three-hit complete-game win at Georgia Southwestern.

Haney struck out seven batters and gave up just one walk in nine innings of work. He gave up just five hits in the win.

Haney's complete-game effort took a mere 103 pitches.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
