AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball standout Doniel Dean has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 27, 2019.

Dean, a senior from Newnan, Ga., guided the Pacers to a 2-0 week with wins over No. 21 UNC Pembroke and over Lander.

In the victory at UNC Pembroke, Dean poured in a game-high 29 points, including the game-winner, in the 90-88 win. He also added three steals.

In the victory over Lander, Dean posted 18 points, snagged three rebounds and had two steals.

For the week, Dean hit 14-of-29 from the floor for 48.3 percent. He canned six-of-13 from downtown for 46.2 percent. For good measure, Dean hit 13-of-16 from the charity stripe for 81.3 percent. He averaged 23.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and two assists per contest.
