AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Alie Smith has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, 2018.

Smith is a 5-10 outside hitter from St. Johns, Fla.

She guided the Pacers to a 2-0 week with wins over Lander and at Flagler.

For the week, Smith averaged 4.33 kills per set while hitting .273. She accounted for 3.33 digs per frame and 5.1 points per set.

Smith posted a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs in the sweep of the Bearcats. She also chipped in a pair of aces.

In the road win against the Saints, Smith pounded home a match-best 15 kills and narrowly missed a double-double with nine digs. Smith added two aces, an assist and a block in the victory.
