AIKEN, S.C. – USCA baseball standout
Joseph Rauscher has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for April.
A native of Plymouth Meeting, Va., Rauscher had a sensational month for the Pacers.
The senior opened the month by tossing five innings and picking up the victory in a 15-5 contest at Lander. During the game, he recorded five strikeouts.
On Apr. 9, Rauscher worked six innings, giving up just two earned runs on eight hits, while posting six strikeouts in the 11-9 win over Augusta.
A week later, Rauscher had four strikeouts in six strong frames in the 15-5 win at Georgia College. He gave up just two earned runs on four hits.
In the series opener against No. 17 North Georgia, Rauscher tossed eight innings of shutout ball before being responsible for two runs in the ninth. He had three strikeouts in the game.
For the month, Rauscher went 3-0 with 18 strikeouts against 10 walks in 25 innings of work. He only gave up four extra base hits. Rauscher allowed just 11 earned runs on 23 hits for the month.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2025-26 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
