AIKEN, S.C. – USCA men's cross country standout
Daniel Kiprono has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for October.
A native of
Nandi Hills, Kenya,
Kiprono had two outstanding races for USCA.
He established a school record in the 8k at the Sand Shark Invitational with a time of 25:55.1. His time was good enough for eighth place.
Two weeks later at the PBC Championships, Kiprono once again bested the school record. He crossed the finish line in a
USCA-best time of 25:48.1, which was good enough for 13
th place.
His effort allowed him to garner all-conference accolades, marking just the second USCA men's cross country student-athlete to ever do so.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2025-26 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
