AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Brian Parreira has been named the Willie Jewell’s USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 23, 2017.

Parreira, a junior from Annapolis, Md., guided the Pacers to a 4-0 week with a midweek win over Newberry and a sweep at Montevallo.

Parreira got things going in a big way against the Wolves. He went three-for-four with a career-high six RBI. Parreira smashed a pair of doubles and had a homer in the game.

In the opener against Montevallo, Parreira established a PBC and school record by scoring six times in a conference contest. He also broke a 15-year old school record by doing so. For the game, Parreira went four-for-four with four RBI and six runs scored. In the middle game against the Falcons, he had a base hit and drove in two teammates.

Parreira registered four hits, including two round-trippers, in the series finale victory. He drove in five runs in the contest.

For the week, Parreira went posted a .706 batting average by going 12-for-17 at the plate. He drove in 17 runs and scored 10 times. Parreira garnered four homers and three doubles.
