University of South Carolina Aiken cross country standout
Bethany Fordham has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2016-17 athletic year ending Sept. 25, 2016.
Fordham, a 5-5 sophomore from Groton, Mass., led USC Aiken at the Bulldog Stampede on Saturday.
Fordham recorded an 18
th-place finish after crossing the finish line in a personal-best time of 25:10.14. It was the second straight race in which she garnered a personal-best time on a 6k course.
During the two races this season, Fordham's 6k personal-best time has improved by over a minute.
The USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
