Women's Basketball | June 20, 2022
Throughout June, Pacer Athletics will feature a Top Moment for each sport from the 2021-22 academic year. The eighth Top Moment comes from the women's basketball program.
Head coach
Mark Miller's team had several impressive performances throughout the season. One could argue that setting the school record for points allowed in a quarter would be at the top of the list. On Jan. 12, USC Aiken held Georgia College scoreless for the entire second quarter.
As impressive as that feat was, the four-quarter domination of Flagler on Homecoming (Feb. 12) topped the list for the team.
After leading 19-17 at the end of the first quarter, Miller's team gave up just four points while outscoring the Saints 12-4 in the second for a 31-21 halftime advantage.
The defense was sensational throughout the game, but the offense outscored Flagler 54-29 in the second half of the 85-50 win.
USC Aiken held the Saints to 19-of-70 shooting from the floor (27.1 percent). Offensively,
Emily Trushel led the way by netting 23 points on nine-of-12 shooting.
Chidinma Okafor posted 16 points and 12 boards while
Grace Crawford had 15 points.
Allycia Harris added 13 points and eight rebounds in the win.
The Pacers canned 30-of-62 from the floor in the game, including shooting a sizzling 69.2 percent from downtown.
