Throughout June, Pacer Athletics will feature a Top Moment for each sport from the 2021-22 academic year. The fifth Top Moment comes from the golf program.
The USC Aiken golf team had several highlights throughout the year. Ranked No. 1 early on and maintaining a top-five national ranking for most of the season, head coach
Michael Carlisle's team performed well during the campaign. In fact, the team's 288.1 stroke average for the year marked a school record.
Although the team had many possibilities for a top moment, one that stood out was at the PBC Tournament. Despite
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Charlie Denvir competing in their first respective bit of postseason competition, the dyad thrived against the field.
Denvir finished fourth overall by shooting three-under par, 210. He posted scores of 75-65-70. Abrahamsson took home a fifth-place effort by shooting two-under par, 211. He finished with scores of 72-68-71. Â
Their outstanding performances allowed both to earn PBC all-tournament team accolades.Â
