Throughout June, Pacer Athletics will feature a Top Moment for each sport from the 2021-22 academic year. The first Top Moment comes from the men's cross country program.
Having restarted the program in 2019, the team has continually improved. At the PBC Championship, the Pacers finished seventh, besting Clayton State and Georgia Southwestern en route to a seventh-place finish. It marked the highest finish at the PBC Championship for the program since the team returned to action in 2019.
FAIRBURN, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's cross country team finished seventh Saturday morning at the PBC Championship.
The Pacers were led by rookie
Patrick Davis' time of 27:18.6 on the 7.58k course. He finished 31st.
First-year runner
Julian Mendoza took 39
th after posting a mark of 28:02.2. Fellow newcomer
David Witt took 40
th after crossing in 28:21.4. Senior
David Weidner was not far behind him, taking 42
nd place after running in 30:23.3.
Kyle Ready completed the scoring with a 52
nd-place effort. He crossed the line in 32:42.7.
Julian Salas was just behind Ready, taking 53
rd in 32:45.1.
