From only one scholarship offer to being a fifth-year standout. That could give people a synopsis of
Daniel Wiggins.
A local product, Wiggins was only offered by USC Aiken out of high school. After appearing just three games as a true freshman, he appeared in 50 contests over the next two years of his career.
In the shortened 2020 campaign, Wiggins saw time in six contests from the bullpen. This season, he has earned multiple starts while also seeing time in relief.
Wiggins, a valuable teammate who will do anything for his teammates, sees his job as being flexible enough to do whatever it takes to give his team the best opportunity to win.
He also discussed at length the memory of 2020 when the team was told its season was over with. In a daze for a while, the 2020 seniors didn't realize their careers were over at that point. However, the NCAA allotted the seniors a chance to have an extra season.
Wiggins took advantage of the extra year in order to play in 2021.
PacerSports.com recently sat down with Wiggins to discuss his journey from high school through the start of the 2021 campaign.Â
