A week before the NCAA Tournament in 2017, USC Aiken suffered a 12-2 loss to third-seeded Georgia College in the PBC Tournament.

The Bobcats were the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and the Pacers earned the No. 3 seed. This forced a second match-up in a week between the two PBC rivals.

After the Bobcats tallied two runs in the first, head coach Kenny Thomas' team battled back with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Mitchell Price singled in Jose Bonilla and Brian Parreira's groundout allowed Luke Westerberg to score. Moments later, Zach Moon singled in Price for the one-run edge.

The lead was short-lived as GC used a bases-clearing double in the second for a 5-3 lead.

Neither team could push across a run, but the Pacers got things going in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Moon led off and was hit by a pitch. Freddie Beamon III came in as a pinch runner, but managed to trot home when Daulton Weeks blasted a round-tripper over the left center field wall, tying the game at 5-5.

Jon Banks singled before Tyler Ammerman laid down a sacrifice bunt, pushing him to second base. A groundout from Bonilla put Banks at third. On a 2-2 count, Westerberg ripped a single up the middle for the 6-5 victory.

Joseph Benitez worked the first six frames prior to Nick Yobbi tossing the final three innings. Yobbi picked up the victory, striking out two while giving up just three hits.
