Bryan Sangid Interview
Clint Smith Interview
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's golf teams have always been competitive. The teams are continually among the best not only in the conference, but also in the region and national rankings.
Competitive annually, but for three years, the Pacers dominated the golf world.
During the 2003-04 season, USC Aiken had several second-place efforts but managed to come out on top when it counted the most – at the NCAA Championship. Scott Brown led the way for the team with a fourth-place effort while Dane Burkhart and Clint Smith tied for sixth en route to the school's first national title.
The 2004-05 was nearly unbeatable, winning numerous tournaments on the season. Â Â Â The squad had an abundance of talent on the team and each week the squad could have had multiple student-athletes leading the way.
It didn't matter who the team faced, whether it was a Division I or Division II school, Carlisle's team was up for the task. With Dane Burkhart claiming the individual national championship to lead the way, the Pacers registered their second consecutive team national championship. (

The team was outstanding once again during the 2005-06 campaign. Dane Burkhart's second-place effort guided the squad to the team's third consecutive national championship. Roberto Diaz was fourth while Brown narrowly missed out on a top-10 effort with an 11
th-place effort.
The team's third consecutive national championship resulted in a DYNASTY. It marked only the second time in NCAA Division II history that a team had claimed three consecutive national championships (Florida Southern 1998-2000).
Dating back to 2003-04, USC Aiken won a staggering 23 of their final 28 tournaments.
PacerSports.com recently reached out to members of each of their teams. Two written interviews and the video interview can be seen above. Â
