Heading into the national championship, were you nervous?
There were added nerves compared with a regular event, but confident in our ability. Looking back, we had two of our top five players turn pro the following year and one (Scott Brown) who has been in the top 125 on the PGA tour for the last ten years.
Prior to winning the national championship, did you have a certain hole or shot that was a memorable moment for you during the tournament?
I don’t remember a particular hole or shot standing out but do remember the golf course being a difficult test.
Playing the last round - when did you know you were going to secure the championship?
I felt confident our team would hold onto the 6+ shot lead going into the final round.
How was winning the school's first-ever national championship?
It was very rewarding then and continues to be now. It stands out as one of the best memories in my life! Thankfully all the hard work put in by Coach Carlisle and our team paid off!
