On Feb. 2, 2013, the USC Aiken and Augusta State rivalry was once again at the forefront of the minds of everyone in the CSRA.

In a battle between the two top teams on the East side of the PBC standings, the No. 6 Pacers headed into the contest with a 16-2 overall ledger and a 9-2 record in league play. The No. 24 Jaguars were 15-2 overall and 8-2 in the PBC.

USC Aiken got out of the gate quickly. A three-ball from Daniela Tarailo just 4:38 into the game pushed the advantage to six at 10-4. On the ensuing possession, Tarailo nailed another shot from downtown for a seven-point edge, 13-6.

Leading 13-10, Mackenzie Reese sliced through the paint for a lay-up. Moments later, Porsha Martin and Tarailo canned jumpers, giving the visitors a 20-10 lead. The Pacers would go on to lead by a 24-20 count at the break.

A seven-point run by the Jaguars near the midway point of the second half gave the home team a 43-38 advantage. With just under five minutes to play, Tarailo connected from distance, giving the Pacers a 48-46 lead.

The game looked out of reach to many with ASU leading 55-50 with just 15 seconds to play. However, head coach Mike Brandt's team drew up a play that ended with Brittany Hill finding Tarailo for a three-pointer with six ticks left on the clock.

After the Jaguars took a time-out, USC Aiken committed a foul. ASU's Tiffany Jaecks missed both free throws and Tarailo corralled the rebound. With one second to play, Reese squared up and hit the game-winning three-point shot from 22 feet out, securing the come-from-behind 56-55 victory.

For the game, Tarailo scored a game-high 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting. Martin had 12 points while Tiffany Moody snagged 10 boards.
