AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Mitchell Price has been named the Willie Jewell’s USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 9, 2017.
 
Price, a senior native of Columbia, S.C., guided the Pacers to a 3-0 week. 
 
He posted a .545 batting average while starting all three contests. For the week, he wrapped up six hits – four of which went for extra bases.
 
Price delivered six RBI while crossing home five times. He tallied a .571 on-base percentage and slugged 1.273. In the field, he was perfect with five putouts.
 
Price had a double in the opener against the Jaguars. In the second game, he posted three hits and was a triple short of the cycle. Price drove in five runs in the contest. On Sunday, he posted two hits, including a homer in his second straight game.  
 
The Willie Jewell's USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
