AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Kayla Duggan has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18, 2018.
The sophomore from Amelia Island, Fla., guided the Pacers to a 2-1 week in the NCAA Tournament.
In the opening-round match against Lincoln Memorial, Duggan had nine kills, four digs, four block assists and a pair of aces.
Against Georgia College in the come-from-behind victory, she posted a career-high 20 kills while hitting .320. Duggan narrowly missed a double-double with nine digs. She added two blocks and a pair of aces.
In the region championship, Duggan had five kills, 13 digs and two blocks.
For the week, she averaged a team-high 3.09 kills per set while adding 26 digs, eight blocks and four aces. Duggan was named to the Southeast Region all-tournament team for her effort.
This season, she guided USC Aiken to a 23-5 record, a PBC regular-season title and a Sweet 16 appearance.
