AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken golf standout Oscar Abrahamsson has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for May.

Abrahamsson, a sophomore from Gothenburg, Sweden, had an outstanding performance at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.

He shot three-under par, 213, for the 72-hole event. Abrahamsson narrowly missed out on advancing to the NCAA Championships with his performance.

He opened the event by shooting three-under par, 69. Abrahsmasson followed his stellar first round up with back-to-back even-par, 72 scores, over the final 18 holes of play.

Earlier in the season, Abrahamsson picked up PBC all-tournament team accolades.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2021-22 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
