AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Josh Sharp has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for April.
Sharp, a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., had a spectacular month at the plate.
The outfielder led the team with a .403 batting average and slugged .532. He sported a .472 on-base percentage as well.
Sharp led the team with 25 hits, including two home runs and two doubles. He posted a team-best 14 RBI and scored a team-high 13 runs. Sharp had a team-best 33 total bases, accounted for a team-high nine walks, registered a team-best three sacrifice hits and garnered a team-high six steals.
Sharp started all 16 games and tallied a hit in 14 of the 16 contests. He notched seven multi-hit games, including a four-hit performance against Coker.
Sharp drove in a career-high six runs in the win over USC Beaufort and was tabbed the PBC Player of the Week on Apr. 29.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2023-24 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
