AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout Austyn Dixon has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for February.

Dixon, a native of Kings Mountain, N.C., guided the Pacers to a 13-3 record in February.

The catcher recorded a .348 batting average to go along with a .761 slugging percentage during her first 16 games. Dixon has a .415 on-base percentage. 

The freshman has a team-best five home runs to go along with a team-high 21 RBI. She has 16 hits and has scored 10 runs. Dixon has a team-best four doubles to her credit.

She has five multi-hit games this season and has been named the PBC Freshman of the Week twice. Dixon has eight multi-RBI games, including a career-high five RBI in the first game against Claflin.

She is in the top five in the PBC in home runs and RBI.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2023-24 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
