AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer standout
Hippolyte Denis has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for August.
Denis, a redshirt-senior from Sofaia, Guadeloupe, guided the Pacers to a second-half comeback in the 2-2 tie at Belmont Abbey on August 31.
The 6-0 midfielder did it all in the tie.
"He won every header he went up for and he made every tackle he attempted," head coach
Ike Ofoje stated. "Hippolyte played all 90 minutes in the contest. He did everything needed for his team."
Denis made all the right plays and helped his teammates be in the right position throughout the match.
The two second-half scores helped USC Aiken move to 5-0-1 in the last six matches against the Crusaders.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2023-24 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
