AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Joel Haney has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2022.

Haney, a sophomore from Rock Hill, S.C., went 1-0 on the week in his lone appearance.

In the win at Lander, he worked seven innings and gave up just one run on seven hits.

Haney struck out four batters and walked just one in the 8-2 victory. He tossed just 97 pitches in the win.

Haney had an assist in his one chance in the field.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
