AIKEN, S.C. - USCA volleyball standout Anna Sommer has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for September.

Sommer, a native of Saint Louis, Mo., guided the Pacers to a 7-2 start to the 2024 campaign during September.

The 6-1 middle blocker slammed home 88 kills, hit .382 and registered 31 total blocks in the month. Additionally, she garnered honors from the PBC for her effort.

Sommer slammed home a career-high 17 kills while hitting .615 in the victory over Francis Marion. She posted 14 kills in the win over Mississippi College and notched 13 kills in the win over Coker. Sommer accounted for 10 kills in wins over Belmont Abbey, Carson-Newman and North Greenville.

She registered five blocks against Wingate, Mississippi College, Alabama Huntsville and Montevallo.

Sommer leads USCA in points (107), points/set (3.45), kills (88), kills per set (2.84), and blocks (31). She's second in attack percentage (.382).  

The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2024-25 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
