Freshman Alice Neves is already having a big impact on the No. 30 University of South Carolina Aiken women’s tennis team.

The rookie from Lisbon, Portugal, started playing tennis at the young age of six. She tried out soccer for a little bit, but realized that her passion was showcased when she played tennis.

Neves wanted to further her education in the United States and started contacting schools. Although USC Aiken was not the first one to contact her, head coach Steve Dahm did get back with her pretty fast.

Dahm landed Neves – and her boyfriend Antonio Sabugueiro – as both play for their respective tennis teams at USC Aiken.
