Sometimes, the best things come to those that wait. That could be said for senior left-handed pitcher Joseph Benitez.

The left-handed hurler from Crofton, Md., played at Division I Old Dominion for three seasons before making the trek to Aiken, S.C., prior to the 2016-17 academic year.

The psychology major got the starting nod on the second day of the season and he threw a gem against Lincoln Memorial. In his Pacer debut, Benitez went five innings and struck out five while allowing just three base hits.
