Many people, if not all, have a defining moment in his or her life. The moment when things change instantly.
Freshman Chesney Gardner had a defining moment early in her life with a wreck she was in. Having to overcome numerous injuries, Gardner had to re-learn many things which had become normal for people of just a few years of age.
Gardner overcame adversity and worked her way onto the basketball court, earning a scholarship. Throughout her freshman season, Gardner has had numerous bright moments on the court.
Heading into Wednesday’s game at Augusta, Gardner has played in 24 contests, earning eight starts. She has played nearly 18 minutes a contest and is netting 6.1 points a game. Gardner is also pulling down over four rebounds a contest.
The 5-11 forward from Black Mountain, N.C., poured in a season-high 15 points and snagged a season-best nine rebounds at North Greenville.
