AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Student-Athlete of the Week is baseball standout Yariel Diaz.

A native of Orlando, Fla., he had a tremendous week.

Diaz went 11-for-18 on the week for a .611 batting average. He tallied at least one hit in each contest in the 4-0 week while posting three multi-hit performances.

In the opener against Augusta, he had a single, one RBI and scored once. Against Claflin on Friday, Diaz posted three hits, three RBI and scored. He accounted for two hits, two RBI and scored three times in Saturday's victory.

In Sunday's series finale, Diaz tied the school record with five hits. He also tied the school and PBC record with four doubles while also crossing home twice.

For the week, Diaz accounted for 10 RBI, six doubles and scored seven times.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
