University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball standout Doniel Dean has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 28, 2018.

Dean is a junior guard from Newnan, Ga.

The 6-1 junior guard had a pair of outstanding offensive efforts in two hard fought losses.

Against Augusta, Dean poured in a game-high 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor. He added five assists and three steals in the contest.

At Young Harris, Dean registered a season-high 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting. He chipped in four assists and four boards.

For the week, Dean averaged a team-high 31 points on 24-of-42 shooting from the floor. He drained 57.1 percent of his shots, including 40 percent from downtown and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe.
