University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout Chandler Terrapin has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Apr. 29, 2018.
Terrapin, a redshirt-senior from West Columbia, S.C., guided the Pacers to a 3-1 week.
She was outstanding in the circle and at the plate. Terrapin went 2-0 in the circle for the week. She worked 15 innings, striking out nine batters.
Against Claflin, she worked all eight frames in the 4-3 win. She struck out five in the contest. Terrapin worked all seven innings in the circle in the victory over UNC Pembroke. She registered four strikeouts and walked only two in the 6-3 win.
For the week at the plate, Terrapin batted .600, registering six hits in 10 at bats. She belted three round-trippers and drove in five. In all, Terrapin had 15 total bases, slugged 1.500 and had a .667 on-base percentage. For good measure, she was perfect in the field, totaling 24 putouts and four assists without an error.
Terrapin tied the school record by launching two homers in a single game in the win over the Braves. The second round-tripper pushed her into a tie for third place on the career homer list at USC Aiken.
She topped off her career by getting engaged after her final game of her career.
