AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Student-Athlete of the Week is softball standout Abbie Kegley.

A native of Quinton, Va., she had an outstanding week in the circle.

Kegley went 2-0 on the week and did not give up an earned run.

In the 4-0 win over Mount Olive, she gave up just one hit in the complete-game effort. Kegley recorded 10 strikeouts while facing 25 batters.

In the complete-game 7-2 victory over Catawba, Kegley notched a career-high 12 strikeouts. She gave up four hits and did not give up an earned run.

Kegley also had a solid week at the plate. In the win over the Trojans, she blasted a two-run home run. Kegley also had an RBI double in the victory over the Indians.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
