AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week is softball standout Lakyn Phillips.

A native of Lexington, S.C., Phillips guided the Pacers to a 4-1 week.

Phillips went 3-0 in the circle. She worked 21 innings and gave up just three earned runs while limiting opponents to a .256 batting average.

Phillips recorded 19 strikeouts against five walks.

She had nine strikeouts in the win over Anderson. In the series opener at Lander, Phillips went the distance and notched eight strikeouts. In the series finale victory against the Bearcats, she notched a pair of strikeouts and gave up just three hits.
