AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week is men's basketball standout
Jalen McCoy.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., McCoy guided the Pacers to a PBC Tournament Championship and a 3-0 week.
In the PBC Quarterfinal win over Flagler, he scored 24 points and grabbed five rebounds. McCoy propelled the Pacers to the championship game with a 29-point, eight-rebound effort in the semifinal victory over North Georgia. McCoy capped off the team's PBC Tournament run with a 22-point, eight-rebound, two -assist, one-block effort.
For the week, McCoy hit 27-of-55 shots from the floor and 21-of-29 from the charity stripe. He snagged 21 rebounds for good measure while averaging 25 points per game.
McCoy's tremendous effort gave USCA its first tournament title under head coach
Mark Vanderslice and the program's first title since the 2013-14 campaign.
