AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout Emily Ayers has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27, 2022.

Ayers, a sophomore from North Augusta, S.C., led the Pacers to a 2-0 week.

She was five-for-seven at the plate en route to a .714 batting average. Ayers belted a pair of home runs and drove in six runs. She also crossed home five times in the doubleheader sweep of North Greenville.

Ayers' first homer gave the Pacers a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game one. Leading 3-1 in the fifth of game two, her three-run blast gave USC Aiken a 6-1 advantage.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
