GREENVILLE, S.C. – The No. 13 USCA golf team is tied for fifth place after the first round of play at the Bearcat Spring Invitational.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team shot five-over par, 293, through the first 18 holes of competition. USCA is tied with Belmont Abbey for fifth place.
Catawba leads the field at one-over par, 289. Wingate (+3, 291) is second while Lenoir-Rhyne and Coker are tied for third at four-over par, 292, on the par-72, 7,021-yard course. The event is being played at The Preserve At Verdae.
The Pacers are led by the duo of
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Erik Olin. The two are tied for fifth place at one-under par, 71. They are two strokes off the lead of Wingate's Lewis Breeden (-3, 69).
Newcomer
Hugo Boyer is tied for 33
rd while
Mitchell McNeill is tied for 39
th.
Teddy Crooke, playing in his first tournament as a Pacer, is tied for 50
th.
Boyer shot three-over par, 75, through his first 18 holes of play while McNeill is a stroke behind him at four-over par, 76.
