SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USCA men's cross country team finished 22
nd at the NCAA Regional Saturday morning.
Head coach
Marshall Leonard's team established a school record and several personal-best efforts Saturday morning.
His squad was led by
Luis Cruzado's school-record 10k time of 33:23.8. He crossed the finish line in 72
nd place, breaking the school record by nearly two minutes.
Zachary Haase's time of 34.44.8 was good enough for 110
th place.
Jacobo Garcia-Rivera was not far behind him, snagging 112
th place. He notched a time of 34:47.1
Evan McLeod's top time of 35.33.6 was good enough for 134
th place.
Riley Campbell, who previously held the 10k school record a season ago, posted a time of 36:45.0 for 159
th place.
Jase Wilson took 166
th after crossing the line in 37:16.0.
Julio Rojas notched a time of 37:49.3 for 174
th place.
Wingate won the meet while Augusta finished second. Anderson took third while Flagler and Catawba were fourth and fifth, respectively.
The team finished six spots ahead of where they finished last season at the regional event.
