Each week, USC Aiken will post notes. This week, USC Aiken hosts Flagler on Wednesday before hitting the road for a contest at Clayton State.
Back on The Pitch
Last week, USC Aiken continued to deal with adversity. Prior to Wednesday's home match against Anderson, there were two lightning delays in the men's soccer match. Then, rain showered down on the pitch. That resulted in the match being canceled. It marked the second time this season weather has canceled a match for USC Aiken in addition to one Covid issue from an opposing team.
Sweet 16
Kaydence Moore got the starting nod between the pipes and she promptly responded. Although the Pacers lost 2-0, Moore was brilliant in goal. In all, she stopped 16 shots, including numerous attempts that were in the box and others at point-blank range.
Offensive Attack
USC Aiken has been able to take several shots – from various student-athletes – throughout the season. Head coach
Adam Kleman's team has had three student-athletes take at least five shots this season.
Sonya Villarreal has eight shots while
Avery List and
Shiloh Pirro have each taken five shots. All three have had four shots on frame.
Getting On The Pitch
Despite being in the fourth week of the season, head coach
Adam Kleman's team has only played three matches while other schools have played nearly twice as many contests. The Pacers look to play two matches this week after only having played one per week during the first three weeks of the season.
