Second-Half Surge
With their backs against the wall, USC Aiken came out with as much aggression as they had all season in the final 45 minutes against the Bobcats. The team turned in a three-goal effort in the second half. The team nearly had a fourth goal on multiple occasions, but the team was unable to find the back of the net despite continuing to push forward in the offensive third of the pitch.
Youth Steps Up On Senior Day
While three seniors were honored prior to the match, two underclassmen and one upperclassman turned in brilliant efforts against Georgia College & State. Rookies
Carmen Jones and
Mia Duncan each tallied goals while
Reagan Leonard found the back of the net.
Never Giving Up
Trailing 3-0 at halftime on Senior Day, head coach
Adam Kleman's team never gave up. Just 3:29 into the second half,
Carmen Jones took a corner kick and promptly curved it into the back of the net near the far post for a goal. Fourteen minutes later,
Mia Duncan scored to make it 3-2. Although GCSU added a goal in the 70th minute, the Pacers battled back as
Reagan Leonard stole a pass and rocketed home a shot to make it 4-3. It marked the third time this season USC Aiken has scored at least three goals in a half.
