GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in sixth place at the Furman Intercollegiate.
After two rounds of play, head coach
Michael Carlisle's team stands at one-over par, 569. The Pacers are just a shot behind Campbell and James Madison entering the final round of competition. USC Aiken opened by shooting 293 before garnering a second-round 276.
Furman leads the field at 22-under par, 546. Chattanooga (-19, 549) and Texas A&M (-11, 557) are second and third, respectively, in the 15-team field. USC Aiken is the lone Division II team at the event.
Oscar Abrahamsson leads Carlisle's team after the first two rounds of play. Abrahamsson is tied for 15
th after shooting two-under par, 140. Abrahamsson posted an opening-round 72 before notching a score of three-under par, 68.
Erik Olin and
Justice Hartman are tied for 27
th at one-over par, 143. After shooting an opening-round 75, Olin fired a three-under par, 68, for the second round. Hartman posted scores of 73-70 on Sunday.
Rory McDonald O'Brien is tied for 52
nd while
Mitchell McNeill is tied for 86
th. McNeill shot one-under par, 70, during the second round of action.
