Mendoza's Ascent To The Front
Sophomore
Julian Mendoza has an abundance of potential, which was seen during his recruiting process and during his rookie season. This year, he has been solid in each meet. At the Converse Kick-Off, he bested
David Witt by nearly 15 seconds for the team's top runner. Mendoza finished in 28:58.9.
Campbell Continues To Set Season-Best Times
Senior
Riley Campbell continues to set personal-best marks this year. After being a standout runner as a freshman, Campbell missed the last two years due to injuries. However, with his continued effort to get healthy, Campbell has emerged as a force for USC Aiken. He notched another season-best time of 30:37.6 at the Converse Kick-Off. Riley is on the verge of surpassing his collegiate personal-best mark as well.
Fantastic Tandem
David Witt and
Joey Burdick were neck-and-neck at the Converse Kick-Off. In fact, Witt edged Burdick by a mere six-thousands of a second. Witt finished in 29:14.1 while Burdick crossed the line in 29:14.7.
Knocking Off Lander
At the Converse Kick-Off, USC Aiken went up against some extremely tough competition. In addition to the team's top-10 finish, the squad bested Lander. In fact, the top five runners for the Pacers finished ahead of any Bearcat.
Scouting The Race
This week, USC Aiken hits the road once again to Georgia for a meet. This time, the squad will compete in Fairburn, Ga. The event is hosted by Clayton State.
