Year 2

Head coach Tina Murphy is in the second year at the helm of the program. Murphy led the team to three wins in her inaugural season, but two of the victories came in the ever-tough PBC. Murphy guided the program to a No. 7 seed in the PBC Tournament, marking the highest seed for the team since the 2008 season. It also marked the first time the squad had ventured into postseason play since the 2017 campaign. 

Not The Earliest Start

Although this season USC Aiken plays before Sept. 1, it is not the earliest the program has ever played a match. That occurred on Aug. 24, 2006. That marked a home date against rival Newberry. Despite a hard-fought match, the visitors managed to sneak away with a 2-1 victory.

Earliest Win In Program History

The 2022 campaign will start on Saturday, Aug. 27 against Erskine. The Pacers have a chance to record the earliest victory in the program's history. USC Aiken's earliest win currently occurred on Aug. 29. The Pacers are 0-1 on Aug. 24, Aug. 25 and Aug. 26. This marks the first time in program history the team has competed on Aug. 27.

Building Off Of Year 1

Despite the 3-11-1 ledger during head coach Tina Murphy's first season, the Pacers lost several close contests. The team dropped six one-goal contests during her inaugural campaign, including a pair to second-seeded Lander. With another year of experience, the team should be able to build off the first year and catapult the squad back to its winning ways. 

Talented Newcomers

Head coach Tina Murphy has added 13 freshman and a junior transfer to her roster since last season. With a strong core return and a tremendous young nucleus, Pacer Nation should be excited to see what the 2022 season will entail.

Inside The Numbers

This week, USC Aiken hosts Erskine on Saturday, Aug. 27. Since the start of the program, the Pacers are 42-104-10 in Saturday contests (30.1 percent). Additionally, this marks the first-ever match for the program on Aug. 27.

This week, USC Aiken hosts Erskine on Saturday, Aug. 27. The Pacers are 3-0 in the all-time series against the Flying Fleet. However, the last time the teams squared off was in 2018 when USC Aiken picked up a 3-0 victory.
