AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team is ninth in the PBC Preseason Poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon.

The Pacers are coming off a seventh-place finish in the PBC a season ago. The No. 7 seed in the postseason tournament marked the program's highest since the 2008 season.

Head coach Tina Murphy, now in her second season at the helm of the team, returns five upperclassmen from last year's team as well as three sophomores. Murphy added 16 newcomers to the squad.

The Pacers open the season Aug. 27 at home against Erskine. The match is slated to start at 5 p.m.
