Poole Inks Outstanding Class

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head softball coach Jaclin Poole, is pleased to announce the signing of eight student-athletes for the 2022-23 academic year.

"I am so excited to finally announce our incoming class," Poole said. "These young ladies all bring character, grit, and talent to our already strong foundation. This class will add the depth that USC Aiken needs to continue on the upward trajectory that we are on. Quality pitching, big bats, and solid defensive players round out this incredibly diverse freshman class and I personally cannot wait to see how they develop during their time as Pacers."

Kadence Adams, Caroline Ballentine, Savannah Ballentine, Riley Daniel, Kyra Dobler, Cameron Greene, Isabella Owens and Marlena Perez will continue their athletic and academic careers at USC Aiken beginning next fall.

Adams is a native of North Augusta, S.C. The North Augusta H.S., product earned all-region accolades as a junior. The infielder guided her team to a pair of region championships. Adams batted .400 and sported a .451 on-base percentage as a junior. She drove in 26 runs, notched five round-trippers and had nine doubles.

Caroline Ballentine is a native of St. Stephen, S.C. The Berkeley H.S., standout hit .365 as a junior and notched a .312 average as a sophomore. While playing travel ball, the infielder/pitcher hit .390 prior to her junior season and .340 before her senior campaign.

Savannah Ballentine is a native of St. Stephen, S.C. The Berkeley H.S., standout hit .431 as a junior and posted a .568 average as a freshman. The catcher/infielder hit .405 during travel ball. She currently ranks second in her class of 394 students.

Daniel is a native of Moncks Corner, S.C. The Berkeley H.S., product is ranked No. 392 in her class by Extra Innings and is No. 207 for infielders by Extra Innings. In 2017, Daniel was tabbed USSSA Best of the Best.

Dobler is a native of Milledgeville, Ga. The Georgia Military College Preparatory School standout was a first-team all-region selection. She batted .625 and sported a .684 on-base percentage. Dobler registered a 1.031 slugging percentage. The outfielder led her travel ball team to a top-six finish at nationals.

Greene is a native of Montgomery, Ala. The St. James School product was a multi-sport student-athlete. A four-time all-Capitol City conference team, the pitcher/infielder picked up two Gold Glove awards. Greene guided her volleyball team to the Elite 8 and picked up all-conference accolades.

Owens is a native of Cataula, Ga. The Harris County H.S., standout was an all-region honoree. She posted a .369 batting average and sported a .388 on-base percentage. The infielder carried her team to the 2019 region title.

Perez is a native of Columbia, S.C. The White Knoll H.S., product was a two-time all-region honoree. The pitcher notched 125 strikeouts as a junior. She posted 12 wins and carried a 2.14 ERA while being in the top 10 in the state in strikeouts, wins and ERA.
