COLUMBUS, Ga. – The USCA softball team lost a 6-0 decision at Columbus State Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 25-20 on the season, including 9-10 in PBC play.
Head coach
Jaclin Poole's squad fell behind 2-0 after the first two innings. In the third,
Lydia Johnson recorded an infield single on a 3-2 pitch. With two down,
Peri Rouillard's base knock to left field put two runners on. However, a groundout ended the threat.
Chloe Webb recorded a two-out single up the middle in the fourth frame, but she was left stranded.
The Cougars pushed the margin to 3-0 with a run in the fifth before plating three runs in the sixth.
In the seventh, Webb registered a lead-off single. She was erased on a fielder's choice.
For the game, Webb had a pair of base hits. Johnson and Rouillard each tallied a base knock.
In the circle,
Abbie Kegley went the distance. She gave up six runs on nine hits. Kegley recorded four strikeouts.
