WINGATE, N.C. - The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the 2022 All-Southeast Region Volleyball Teams Thursday morning and
Kari Mercer picked up first-team accolades.
Mercer, a native of Hilliard, Ohio, garners first-team all-region honors for the second consecutive season. A year ago, she picked up D2CCA third-team All-America honors.
Mercer shattered the school record for digs in a set when she posted 49 in the 3-1 win over Catawba during the second match of the season. This year, she has 652 digs and 1849 for her career. Mercer's 652 digs are the fifth most in school history for a single season. Additionally, her 1849 career digs put her third in the USC Aiken record book and seventh in PBC history during the rally scoring era.
Mercer ranks fifth nationally in total digs while anchoring the defense of USC Aiken's 19-13 team. Her 5.26 digs/set are 18
th nationally.
An all-conference selection, Mercer guided the Pacers to the PBC Championship match after knocking off No. 4 Georgia College & State and No. 1 Augusta.
