ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The USCA volleyball team lost a 3-2 contest to Georgia College & State University in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Friday evening.
The Pacers conclude the season at 15-16.

Glenn Cox's team was led by
Lexi Rogers' double-double of 17 kills and 21 digs.
Anna Sommer posted 12 kills and six block assists while
Chloe Duzenack totaled 11 kills and 15 digs for a double-double.
Alli Bishop posted eight kills and added six block assists.
Tucker Patterson chipped in seven kills while
Avery Pearson contributed six.
Sidney Hogan notched a double-double with 24 assists and 16 digs while
Madison Fox posted a double-double with 23 assists and 10 digs.
Defensively,
Kira Bostick recorded a team-best 28 digs.
After dropping the first set 25-17, USCA bounced back to take the second stanza. Leading 7-6, Bishop hammered home a pass from Hogan. Up 8-7, a pair of errors by the Bobcats and an ace from Rogers pushed the margin to 11-7. Pearson's block extended the advantage to five, 12-7. GCSU tied the match at 14-14, but Sommer answered the call with a kill. Duzenack provided an ace for a two-point cushion. Tied at 21-21, Duzenack and Patterson posted kills. After an error by the Bobcats, Bostick ended the set with an ace for the 25-21 victory.
Cox's team continued its strong play to start the third frame as Duzenack served up an ace. Leading 3-2, Pearson and Rogers posted points. After a second straight kill from Rogers, Fox split the defense for an ace. Holding a 15-14 lead, Bishop garnered a kill. Two straight errors by the designated visitors pushed the margin to four, 18-14. After a time-out, USCA scored back-to-back points thanks to Patterson and Bishop. With the score at 24-22, Sommer provided the Pacers a 2-1 edge with a kill and the three-point win, 25-22.
The back-and-forth affair saw GCSU knot the match after a tightly contested fourth stanza. USCA trailed 23-18 before an error made it a four-point contest. Down 24-19, a bad set and an error made it 24-21. Bishop and Sommer blocked back-to-back attempts, but the Bobcats recorded a kill for the two-point win.
Tied at 6-6 in the fifth frame, Duzenack and Sommer slammed home kills, forcing a time-out by the Bobcats. Down 10-9, Sommer knotted the contest with a kill off a pass from Hogan. Rogers pulled the team within one on a kill, making it 12-11. USCA found itself trailing 14-12, but Duzenack and Patterson extended the set with back-to-back points. However, the Bobcats managed to pull out the 17-15 win.
For the match, USCA tallied 61 kills and hit .141. The team dished out 54 assists and served up eight assists. The squad combined for nine total blocks (one solo, 16 assists).
