AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Kari Mercer has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30, 2022.

Mercer, a native of Hilliard, Ohio, had a solid match against Augusta last week.

The libero posted a team-high 22 digs, dished out three assists and recorded two aces in the team's lone match of the week.

With her 22 digs, Mercer continued to move up in the USC Aiken record books. She moved into seventh place for single-season digs with 563.

Additionally, Mercer moved into third place for career digs in school history with 1,760.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
