AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer standout Megan Gettys has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2022.

Gettys, a native of Mandeville, La., led the Pacers to a 1-0 week.

In the team's lone match, she recorded a career-high three goals in the PBC win at Albany State. The three goals are the most by a Pacer since Sarah Moore in the 2016 victory over Francis Marion.

The rookie scored the first two goals of the match – both of which occurred in the first half. 

Leading 3-0, Gettys took her first career penalty kick and blasted home the shot for a 4-0 lead.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
