AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer standout
Megan Gettys has been named the
Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2022.
Gettys, a native of Mandeville, La., guided the Pacers to a 2-0 week.
In the road win at Georgia College & State, she scored the match-winning goal with under a minute to play. After USC Aiken was fouled, Gettys took the kick from 35 yards out and curled it past the keeper for the 2-1 victory. The win propelled the team to a fifth-place regular-season finish in the league.
In the home finale against Allen, Gettys recorded a goal in the shutout victory.
