AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer standout
Megan Gettys has been named the PBC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.
It marks the second time Gettys has picked up the accolade this year. By doing so, she's the first USC Aiken women's soccer student-athlete to be named PBC Player of the Week twice in the same season in program history.
Gettys, a native of Mandeville, La., led the Pacers to a 1-0 week.
In the team's lone match, she recorded a career-high three goals in the PBC win at Albany State. The three goals are the most by a Pacer since Sarah Moore in the 2016 victory over Francis Marion.
The rookie scored the first two goals of the match – both of which occurred in the first half.
Leading 3-0, Gettys took her first career penalty kick and blasted home the shot for a 4-0 lead.
