USC Aiken Women's Soccer Notes - Week 9

WSO_Notes_09_2022

Women's Soccer | October 18, 2022

Each week, the University of South Carolina Aiken will produce weekly notes. This week, USC Aiken plays at Georgia College on Wednesday before hosting Allen on Saturday.

Pitching The Shutout

Against North Georgia, USC Aiken earned the shutout tie. The Pacers picked up their seventh shutout of the season. It is just one behind the school record of eight shutouts set in 2000 when the team went 12-8-1 and finished 2-2-1 against league foes.

Earning The Point

The Pacers picked up one point in the tie with North Georgia. It marked the first positive result the program has had against the Nighthawks since 2007, which was also a 0-0 draw.

Big Week Ahead

With one more league regular-season match remaining, the Pacers have a chance to control their own destiny. The team has secured a PBC Tournament bid but has a chance to move up in the standings. After the match at Georgia College on Wednesday, the team steps out of league play for a match against Allen to wrap up the regular season.

One Last Home Contest

The Pacers have one regular-season home match left – against Allen. USC Aiken has already had Senior Day, but it marks the last time that the program's Erika Bateman and Baylea Payne will have a chance to play at Pacer Pit.
